PRESS RELEASE: 2007 will mark the beginnings of what is sure to become yet another grand tradition in the fabric of Western New York culture as the First Annual Dyngus Day Parade will be kicked off in Buffalo’s Historic Polonia District.

Dyngus Day Buffalo, a non-for-profit organization who promotes Buffalo as the Dyngus Day Capital of the World, will be staging the parade that will begin at 5pm starting at the Broadway Market and will end at the Central Terminal. The parade route will pass numerous Dyngus Day celebrations including those at St. Stanislaus Church and the Adam Mickiewicz Library.

“The parade will be a great way to get a party of this magnitude started, said Parade Chairman and Dyngus Day Buffalo member Eddy Dobosiewicz. “The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive. What a better way to celebrate the end of the Lenten season and the end of another Western New York winter than the colorful energetic sights and sounds of a parade?”

A parade map and participation application are available on the web at www.DyngusDayBuffalo.com. The website also includes an up-to-date listing of all Dyngus Day festival events. The deadline for parade entries is 5pm April 2, 2007.
