Lunch Polish Style at Perison’s

I found this little gem of a review on Perison’s Restaurant at the Market over at a local blog called Buffalo Food and Other Delights.

When I saw the pic above of the Polish-American style BBQ hamburger, it made me think of my Babcia/Busha and how that burger was served up on many family events in B-F over the years.  As the writer of the blog points out, it is not BBQ’d at all…but hey, we are Polish and we come up with our own stuff and names for things.

I have made similar BBQ hamburgers over the years, but never could get it quite the way my Babcia/Busha did…the only person to come close is my mother…I may just whip up a batch soon. A few years ago, my mother put together a family recipe book for me and my brothers.

I will post the recipe later in the week.

Anyway, click here to view the review on Perison’s…a Broadway Market treasure.

  1. My mouth is watering! Perison’s is a favorite stop every time I visit. Multiple meals, usually lunch, every time I come back to Buffalo! Tell Kathy (the wonderful waitress!)there that the guys from Florida say hello!!!

  2. Yes! The BBQ hamburgers were also a staple at many of my family gatherings with Al Cohen’s rolls of course!
