Corpus Christi Sunday Procession in Broadway-Fillmore on 06/11/2023

Corpus Christi Sunday is on June 11th. In East Buffalo, the day features a traditional procession between Corpus Christi and St. Stanislaus churches. The event is both a religious and ethnic celebration. It’s really remarkable.

Here are the details:

There will be Mass at St. Stanislaus Church at Noon. Then the half-mile procession will begin at 1:00 p.m. from in front of St. Stanislaus Church, proceeds to outdoor altars, and conclude at Corpus Christi Church with benediction inside of the church.

All of Western New York’s faithful are welcomed to join in the procession and Mass. The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ is a feast established in the church in the 13th century. Polish Roman Catholics carried the tradition with them to America, where it continues to this day as a unique religious public display.
