Andy Gołębiowski will be hosting new Polish American radio program on WEBR

A new radio show called The Polish American Program, will debut on WEBR 1440 AM and online worldwide at WEBR1440.com, on Saturday, July 11 at 11 a.m. The program’s host will be Andy Gołębiowski.  The one hour show will feature a wide variety of music from Poland, the U.S., and other countries, introduced in English. Gołębiowski is a long time Polonia activist in Buffalo.

The music presented will range from folk to classical, from something as unique as pre-war Polish jazz, to patriotic, and religious music, to modern pop, in Polish, and in English.

In addition to hearing it on WEBR 1440 AM in WNY and southern Ontario, listeners can hear the program online anywhere in the world, at WEBR1440.com through a cellphone, computer, tablet, or Alexa.

New ownership at 1440 AM has changed the station’s call letters from WJJL to WEBR and unveiled a new format called The Great American Songbook. Weekends will include ethnic and jazz programming.

WEBR featured Polish programs in the early 1930s sponsored by various Polish-owned businesses, among them the Podeszwa i Kordula comedy show sponsored by Kolipinski Furniture, a show which the Fr. Justin Rosary Hour grew out of. Beginning July 11, The Rosary Hour in Polish will precede Gołębiowski’s program, at 10:30 a.m. every Saturday.

The Polish American Program will be rebroadcast every Sunday from 6 p.m.-7p.m. For more information about the new program, or interest in sponsorship, please contact Andy Gołębiowski at 716-510-7562, or write to AndyRadio1440@gmail.com

Good luck, Andy!
