About 250 people came down to East Buffalo’s Historic Polonia to particpate in this years Corpus Christi procession between Saint Stanislaus and Corpus Christi churches.
The Feast of Corpus Christi, which dates to the 13th Century, celebrates the institution of the Holy Mass and professes the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. This ceremony has long been an important day in Polish culture that is observed with a public display of faith. Especially in recent years, hundreds of Western New Yorkers have commemorated this important event by participating in the church procession in the Broadway-Fillmore neigborhood.
This was the 9th year in a row where both churches joined together to do the procession through the street of neighborhood.
Here is video as the end of the procession as it arrives at Corpus Christi Church.
