Kateri Tekakwitha was named the first Native American saint today by Pope Benedict XVI in a ceremony held in St. Peter’s Square.

The image you see above is a painting by of her on the high walls of Saint Adalbert Basilica’s nave and was painted by Jozef Mazur.

In honor of Kateri Tekakwitha being canonized today, I decided to post the painting from the basilica.
