Witamy! Welcome St. Adalbert Family

Change often brings us discontent, sadness, and even suffering. We have all experienced this in other aspects of our lives as we move to other homes, jobs, schools, in the loss of a loved one, etc. The one constant we have is God’s loving presence in our lives, which gives us the strength to deal with these stressful transitions. Now more than ever we need to draw close to God and each other.

We understand that for many of you it would be easier to attend a church that is closer to your homes in the suburbs; that would be a logical decision to make. However, we encourage you to consider attending where you are most needed. Now more than ever we need to stand together to preserve our church communities. If we love God and each other, we can succeed in creating a new, dynamic parish.

Please accept this as our welcome to you to worship at St. John Kanty and merge our families. Of course, the St. John Kanty worship site can never replace St. Adalbert. However, St. John Kanty is a traditional church located where many of you grew up and has a strong Polish-American influence. We expect that St. John Kanty will become a place where you will praise God, learn and reflect on Jesus’ teachings, and strengthen your faith. Please know that we would value presence and that we will do everything we can to make you feel welcome to our newly blended community.

We invite you to bring your traditions and ideas from St. Adalbert to make this as much of a true merger as possible, and ask that you welcome us into your family as well.

You are cordially invited to attend Mass at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2011, followed by a reception and light refreshments in our convent. We encourage all of the Eucharist Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Altar Servers, and members of the choir and various church societies to join the same groups at St. John Kanty.

We are looking forward to meeting you in person and developing a stronger merged parish by growing together in faith and sharing our experiences and talents.

We hope to see you at any of our Masses (in English at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, a Polish Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday; daily except Monday at 8:30 a.m. in the Convent).
