  1. “ST STANS HALL”

On this past Saturday the 4th of July, I spent some time cutting the grass on a couple of my properties. I drove past my 68 Townsend St property, about 400 – 500 feet from St Stanislaus Church. I noticed two wooden chairs in the middle of the sidewalk. I knew already the drug dealers from across the street, had been hanging out in front of my property.

I had made a couple of prior calls to the police, that I didn’t want them standing and loitering for drug sales in front of my house. Two of the reasons they do this are: 1. The Sun. The even side, or west side of the street is shaded in front of those houses during the afternoon and it’s convenient for them to stay comfortable while they are drug dealing. Plus they need to cool down during / after their basketball games. 2. Help disguise the real drug house. After 15 years of watching this family deal non stop on Townsend, I’ve seen them loiter on many houses that didn’t belong to them. From houses of owners that try to keep up their property and wouldn’t like it, to houses of landlords in which these drug dealers get the tenants involved.

As I look around, I notice over 20 pieces of garbage also thrown on the ground in a 60 foot area in front. A broken beer bottle, 5 blunt wrappers, 3 small plastic bags used to store drugs, a used air gun cartridge, and lots of little fireworks blown apart in the street. I noticed 2 holes in the upper window of my orange house, from a beebie gun. So it appears the drug dealers had fun in the shade of my house, smoking drugs, damaging my property, and blowing off fire works, all while they loiter for the purpose of dealing drugs.

I called the police, and made the report. The police officer told me to put the chairs away. The officer didn’t wish to add the thrown garbage to the report because it could have blown there. In my 15 years of owning property, I’ve spent hundreds of hours picking up thousands of pieces of garbage trying to make part of the block I own look better. But, most of the garbage is drug related. With the hundreds of dollars they take in everyday, that gives the dealers easy $50 – 100 dollars a day to spend on fast food items, beer and juice bottles, potato chips, candy bars, and blunt cigars to use the rolling paper for smoking weed, etc. Another 30 minutes spent waiting for the police and picking up the garbage. I’m tried of it. After the police leave, the father of the 7 son drug family asks me for those wooden chairs saying, “ I got those from the church “. I kept the chairs, and told him to call the police, very surprised at what I just heard.

I had left, but remember driving past the old hardware store now closed on William street later that evening. “Industrial Steel” was the name of the business in between Wilson / Townsend streets. I noticed a white female about 30 – 40 yrs old that walks with a limped leg looking to flag down cars for money, she’s a recent regular customer of this Townsend drug family. What is the church doing to look out for these people that continue to suffer with their drug addictions ?

The next day, Sunday I spent 6 hours on Fillmore and East Ferry standing with my Stop Police Corruption, T shirt on. From 3 pm – 9 pm, Thank you to the 114 people that beeped and waived.

Yesterday, I arrived back to my Detroit / Townsend Street properties. One of the drug dealers sons from Townsend, starts yelling, “Where’s those chairs”, walking toward me aggressively. I headed back through to Detroit St. and he may have been slowed down by a neighbor who was out cutting their grass. So, I called the police. When I realized those chairs came from St Stanislaus church, I thought about not giving them back. While I’m waiting for the cops, their making harassing and threatening remarks. I tell the police about the damage done, and the constant garbage and loitering. I think they got those old chairs from the former drug dealer the church had hired for 4 years, a lot of stuff was thrown out. So I went to get the chairs, and before I handed them over to the police, I looked at the back to see the faded lettering, “ST STANS HALL” .

So, if you happen to drive by the church you can notice across the street of my orange house at 68 Townsend, the old wooden fold up chairs that the drug dealers sit in. They are out on the side walk and their porch while they deal drugs. Well if Bishop Edward Grosz had any nerve, I think he should ask for the chairs back. Chairs that parish members sat in that help build up the neighborhood, are now being used by this drug family that has worked to destroy it.

There needs to be at least one Police camera on the corner of Peckham / Townsend. I believe upper levels of the police department are blocking this, with favoritism to this 20 year Townsend drug family. That’s why I believe a lawsuit against the City of Buffalo is necessary. I don’t have the clout and the money, that the church has to force this issue. The “Mother Church of Polonia” could be doing better to help improve the neighborhood.
