Corpus Christi pastor Fr. Anzelm Chalupka and organist Bruce Woody have begun a weekly half-hour of prayer, song and meditation for neigborhood residents, both adults and children, every Thursday evening in the convent chapel.
Those who come are inspired to thank God for blessings received and strive to be a blessing to others especially in a difficult neighborhood undergoing slow but sure revitalization.
The young people especially are actively involved by playing various instruments under the direction of Mr. Woody and parish secretary Jan Christensen, also a professional harpist. Fr. Anzelm plays guitar during the periods of song, but gives a reflection based on a scripture passage and initiates dialogue with those in the pews.
Both Catholics and non-Catholics are warmly invited. Praise begins at 7 PM and a brief time of fellowship follows.
