Received the following from BFA friends at the Response to Love Center…
The Response to Love Center is making an appeal for help in serving hundreds of people a hot turkey dinner again this Thanksgiving. For the last twenty three years the underserved of Buffalo’s East side have been able to enjoy a home made hot turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day. This dinner serves entire families, single people, the elderly and shut-ins. It has become a tradition for many that otherwise could not afford or have the ability to prepare a traditional holiday meal. It is also an opportunity for guests to come together in a real family atmosphere, instead of being alone on our national day of thanks for all the gifts we have in America.
We need Turkeys (20+lbs. frozen birds,) stuffing, vegetables, canned cranberries, canned sweet potatoes, desserts, instant mashed potatoes, rolls, butter and coffee.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
As the economy weakens it becomes more difficult to deal with the greater number of needy and reduced resources that are available to our center. In years past we have been blessed with what we need, please help us continue to provide for the underserved in our community.
