Restaurant Decoration

I stopped by the Central Terminal on Saturday afternoon and a few hardy members of the building committee were there continuing work on the restaurant.

Tracy excitedly showed me her latest project:

She’s gently scraping away a layer of white paint to reveal the original gilded scrollwork that once adorned the Martin’s Lounge Restaurant:

This back wall hadn’t really been illuminated enough to see the painted scroll work on it until we began to light up the ceiling for some necessary demolition work. So, we were all pretty surprised that so much of it, on both wall sections, is pretty well intact. We haven’t decided as yet, whether to leave it as is or to repaint a section like the original. It’s pretty cool, isn’t it?
