FROM THE BROADWAY MARKET: MARKET MANAGEMENT RECEIVES NEW NON-PROFIT DESIGNATIONS

Buffalo, New York – The Broadway Market Management Corporation, the not-for-profit entity responsible for the day-to-day management of the Broadway Market, has had its application for a designation change approved by the Internal Revenue Service, Paul G. Cleary, President of the Market’s Board of Directors has announced.

“The change in status is absolutely integral to the future viability of the Market,” Cleary said. “Under our new status, we can now apply to private foundations to obtain funding for projects to improve the Market. Under our old status, we were completely dependent upon public monies.”

Among the projects for which the Market will seek funding are improvements to the infrastructure of the building to make it more energy-efficient, the expansion and remodeling of the public exhibition area and investment in marketing the Market itself as well as individual vendors.
