While I was driving on my way over to Corpus Christi this morning for mass, I was taking pictures as I always do to put in a slide show for the B-F-A site. Well…one thing led to another or should I say one vacant property picture led to another to another to another to another…get the idea…I shot a bunch of vacant properties basically.
I have become obsessed with the vacant property situation lately. Not only that, I fear that more properties are on the edge of going vacant or being outright abandoned.
These homes are a mystery to me of sorts. Their past intrigues me. I wish I had the time to research each and every one of them because they all have a story to tell.
Honestly, I don’t know what is going to become of them all. I just feel we are losing bits and pieces of something so valuable that the loss can’t be described in words or measured in a tangible method. It is feeling I get inside everytime I stop by one.

I think I am going to start posting more about this along with more pictures. It is an issue that needs to be in the forefront of everyone’s mind who is concerned with the future of the neighborhood. We need to keep focusing on it.
