The Easter season’s last big hurrah is Dyngus Day. Thousands upon thousands of people will descend on East Buffalo’s Historic Polonia today to let loose after lent.
What used to be a primarily Polish day of fun and frivolity has now exploded into a day where Buffalo and Western New York celebrate the area’s rich Polish heritage regardless of one’s ethnic background. Marty Biniasz and Eddy Dobosiewicz are largely responsible for elevating Dyngus Day to local and national prominence with their efforts over the last decade. Their efforts have also helped put East Buffalo’s Historic Polonia back on the map.
There are a number of Dyngus Day events and parties happening through the neighborhood today.
You can find a complete list of Dyngus Day parties, events and parade information by visiting http://www.dyngusday.com/ or by viewing the AM-POL Eagle’s annual Dyngus Day guide by clicking here—>
