Film Night: The Mine Wars at Buffalo’s Eugene V. Debs Hall on May 10th

Eugene V. Debs Hall is continuing its film nights with a screening of The Mine Wars, the acclaimed 2019 PBS documentary that tells the overlooked story of miners in the mountains of West Virginia who came together in a protracted struggle for their rights. Decades of violence, strikes, assassinations and marches accompanied their attempts to form a union, culminating in the Battle of Blair Mountain in 1921, the largest armed insurrection since the Civil War. On Tuesday, May 10, the doors will open at 6 pm with the two hour long documentary starting at 7 pm.

The Eugene V. Debs Hall is located at 483 Peckham St. in the heart of Buffalo’s Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood.
