Buffalo’s St. Stanislaus Church begins year-long celebration of 150th Anniversary on June 5th

In anticipation of its 150th Anniversary in 2023, St. Stanislaus Church will begin a year-long celebration on Sunday, June 5, 2022 with a Noon Mass of Thanksgiving featuring the Chopin Singing Society under the direction of Dr. Thomas Witakowski, followed by a blessing of a monument indicating that St. Stanislaus is the Diocesan Shrine of St. John Paul II, and a dinner/reception sponsored by the members of the Grzechowiak, Stahura, and Szymanski Families in thanksgiving for the support Polonia has provided their ancestors. Limited dinner space available. Reservations for dinner are required: 716-854-5510 or ststanbm@roadrunner.com.

Opposite the church’s cornerstone, a plaque from the 100th Anniversary of the Church from the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society indicates the historical significance of the “Mother Church of Western New York Polonia”–the first Polish Church in Buffalo, New York.
