Historic Concordia Cemetery is Going to the Goats

Historic Concordia Cemetery is Going to the Goats!

When: July 16 & 17, 2020 10 am – whenever

Where: Historic Concordia Cemetery, 438 Walden Avenue at Sycamore Street, Buffalo NY 14211

In a real “Throwback Thursday (and Friday),” Historic Concordia Cemetery will truly step back in time about 150 years to when livestock grazing at the scared grounds was a common sight. The caretaker and his neighbors would bring their goats and cattle to the cemetery to feed, which helped keep the grass and vegetation in check. Let’s Goat Buffalo, Buffalo’s first “goatscaping” outfit, will bring their herd to the cemetery to help trim down the deep grass.

The public is welcome to come see the goats and to help by pitching in to tidy-up the cemetery grounds. Volunteers to mow, trim, and pick up debris are always needed. No dogs are allowed. Please wear your mask & and social distancing guidelines will be followed. In the event of rain, the event will be postponed until sometime in August.
