Saint John Kanty Church’s annual Lenten pierogi and placek sale begins this weekend

Saint John Kanty Church’s annual Lenten pierogi and placek sale begins this weekend and lasts through Palm Sunday. The church also has a basket raffle in conjunction with the sale.

From the church:

Team Pierogi has been busy in Kanty’s Kitchen preparing our delicious cheese pierogi and ‘kraut pierogi for you to enjoy during Lent, and really any time! The sale starts Saturday, February 29, 3-5 and Sunday, March 1, 9:30-noon. Our placek, freshly made on Friday, will also be available.

The sale runs through Palm Sunday, April 5. Stop down to Kanty’s Kitchen before/after our weekend Masses and pick up some comfort food to enjoy with family and friends! You might even want to keep some in your freezer to have after Easter, during the year. Both our pierogi and our placek freeze well and provide some deliciousness all year long!

Tickets for our basket raffle will be available throughout the sale, and the drawing will take place on Palm Sunday, April 5. Lunch will be available for purchase on Palm Sunday.

The sale is the biggest fundraiser Saint John Kanty Church holds during the course of the year. The pierogi and placek are made by a dedicated group of parish volunteers who affectionately call themselves Team Pierogi. The pierogi are delicious. The placek is divine. This is a great opportunity to support support this historic church.

Here’s a video I shot at the church about Team Pierogi from 2012.
