The Buffalo Central Terminal is now accepting applications for participants in the Volunteer Docent Program. Volunteer Docents are needed to conduct site tours and lead educational activities that add to the visitor experience and increase awareness of the future Center for Restoration Arts and Sciences. They lead interactive tours through the art deco architectural masterpiece, help visitors, and assist with storytelling events and other offerings.

Successful docents should be enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work with visitors to encourage interactive discovery.

Before working with visitors, docents will participate in a training program to learn about the building’s history and architecture, and other aspects of the Buffalo Central Terminal. Prior experience is not required. After training is completed, docents must volunteer for tours currently scheduled for evenings and weekends.

Interested individuals should send a letter of interest to Volunteer Director Brian Dadswell no later than 12/1/2013. Docent candidates will be screened and final selection will be made in January, 2014.

Questions regarding the Buffalo Central Terminal Docent Program can be directed to Brian at bdadswell@buffalocentralterminal.org.
