Feast of Corpus Christi to Be Celebrated the weekend of June 12th

Buffalo, New York – The Solemnity of Corpus Christi will be celebrated on Sunday June 14 at Corpus Christi Church, located at 199 Clark Street in Buffalo. This Feast, which dates to the 13th Century, celebrates the institution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion at the Last Supper.

The celebration will begin with Holy Mass at 1:15 p.m. Very Rev. Jozef Olczak, OSPPE, Provincial of the Pauline Order in the United States, will be the main celebrant.

Following the Mass, a traditional outdoor Procession with the Blessed Sacrament will take place. The Procession will begin at St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Church, will stop at two outdoor altars created especially for this service, and conclude at Corpus Christi.

A chicken dinner, catered by Chef John, will be available after the Procession. Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and younger. Dinner reservations may be made by calling the rectory at 896-1050, or may be purchased at the door.

Leading up to the Solemnity of Corpus Christi is Forty Hours of Adoration of the Holy Eucharist, which will be held between 9:00 p.m. Friday June 12 and 1:00 p.m. Sunday June 14 in the main church. All are invited to sign up for an hour of adoration and to join in the Corpus Christi devotions.
