AM-POL Eagle: Dignity sacrificed at Broadway Market

When the Broadway Market Management Corporation was removed by the City of Buffalo as the managing entity of the famed Broadway Fillmore landmark last year we applauded the move as proper and necessary. It was our position that policies at the Market needed to be changed so that the self-interests of existing tenants did not dominate decision-making. The city chose the Delaware North Corporation to run day-day-day operations at the Market on an interim basis while a new permanent operating entity was being considered.

We are generally pleased with the direction of the Market in recent months. That unfortunately changed last week as the Market began preparing for its busiest season of the year – the weeks leading up to Easter when shoppers from across Western New York flock to the Broadway Market in search of traditional items for the Easter season.
