Theater Review |
(Buffalo News – By JANA EISENBERG) Torn Space, the avant-garde theater company, is in the midst of running “Quills,” the “comedy about the last days of the Marquis de Sade.” Doug Wright wrote “Quills” and the screenplay for the movie about the lusty, literary Marquis in 1995 and 2000, respectively.
In this loving and creative revival, characteristic of the company’s challenging shows, David Oliver masterfully plays the Marquis. At this point in his salacious and rebellious career, he’s locked up in an insane asylum, driving his captors and the other inmates all the more crazy.
