On Sunday, June 18, Corpus Christi parish will join with St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church to commemorate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

The observance begins with Forty Hours Devotion and Eucharistic Adoration starting at 4:30pm on Friday, June 16 and continuing until Sunday, June 18 at 8:30a.m. On June 18, Masses at Corpus Christi Church, located at 199 Clark Street in Buffalo will be celebrated at 8:30a.m. and 1:15p.m. Father Anzelm Chalupka, Pastor at Corpus Christi Church, will be the principal celebrant at the 1:15p.m. Mass.

At 3:00p.m., a procession will begin at Corpus Christi and proceed to St. Stanislaus Church (the Mother Church of Polonia) located at 123 Townsend Street near Fillmore Avenue. When the procession arrives, Bishop Edward M. Grosz, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo and Pastor at St. Stanislaus Church, will deliver a homily. In keeping with tradition, the procession will pause for devotions at four outdoor altars created specifically for this feast.

With joyful anticipation, the public is invited to join this inspiring observance. Father Chalupka noted, “We encourage all parishes to send representatives for this very special Eucharistic devotion.” Light refreshments will be served at St. Stanislaus Church immediately following the procession. A dinner for priests from throughout the Diocese will also be hosted at St. Stanislaus Church that afternoon.
