Broadway-Fillmore Catholic Churches to be connected to a Family of Parishes as of July 1st

The Diocese of Buffalo in line with its Road to Renewal program is grouping diocesan churches into Families of Parishes.

Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood churches will be placed into a Family of Parishes effective July 1, 2023.

St. Stanislaus, Corpus Christi, St. John Kanty/St. Adalbert churches will be part of Family #30. Two churches outside the neighborhood, St. Katherine Drexel (Lovejoy) and St. John Gualbert (Cheektowaga), will also be part this family.

Rev. Cole Webster will become the Family Pastor of St. Stanislaus, St. John Kanty/St. Adlabert, St. Katherine Drexel, and St. John Gualbert churches. Rev. Mariusz Dymek will remain the pastor of Corpus Christi Church. Rev. Marek Kreis was assigned to the role Parochial Vicar for all the Parishes.

Rev. Webster is currently the Pastor of St. Peter Parish in Lewiston, NY.

“The ‘Road to Renewal’ has been a process the diocese really began back in 2020, and we’ve been taking our time and helping to bring our parishes together, and move our diocese forward, as we’re looking to create these families of parishes,” said Fr. Bryan Zielenieski, vicar of Renewal and Development with the Buffalo Diocese. “We’re trying to respond to the signs of the times with the changing numbers of priests that are available with changing amount of resources, number of people attending masses. We’re adjusting to the future, so that’s what this Renewal is all about. Tuesday was just a big step forward, as we were making those assignments. But there have been ones made before that too.”
