From Farmland to Funerals: Come learn about Historic Concordia Cemetery on Sat. June 19

Saturday June 19 at 10 am Historic Concordia Cemetery 438 Walden Ave. Buffalo, NY 14211

Since 1859, Historic Concordia Cemetery has served the people of Western New York during their time of loss, recorded their lives and legacies, and marked their memories and heritage.

Come and learn all about Historic Concordia Cemetery’s place in Western New York’s story as part of the Erie County Bicentennial celebration.

Our roots will be traced from this land being used for farming through its development as a sacred ground that is today a living museum and final resting site to over 21,000 people who called this area home. Learn how volunteers saved this once-abandoned cemetery. We will unveil and dedicate our new historic marker from the Pomeroy Foundation recognizing Concordia’s listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Featuring special guest speakers. Volunteers will be on hand to help you locate your ancestors’ graves.
