Transfiguration Parish Alumni Group will host a genealogical workshop at Central Library on Saturday, 10/26

The Transfiguration Parish Alumni group will host a genealogical workshop for former members of the Buffalo parish, and alumni of the school. The session will take place on Saturday, October 26 between 9 a.m. – Noon at the Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo. Experienced genealogist Denise Muczenski-Oliansky will show participants how to access parish and other records that exist online as well as in local archives.

Denise will show us how to search records from Transfiguation Parish, as well as other records to find out where our people are from. Thanks to her help, we may even be able to find any living relatives in Poland, and other countries, something which can help us renew our ties to family there. Meeting family in Poland will be especially rewarding if you plan on joining the alumni trip in Sept. 2020.

Transfiguration Parish in Buffalo was closed in 1993. In 2016 an all-class reunion was held that drew some 300 alumni. Former members of the parish have been meeting periodically since the reunion, and came up with the idea of traveling to Poland together. Participation in the workshop is open to all alumni whether they will be traveling to Poland or not.

Coffee will be provided. There is no admission charge to the workshop, but please let us know if you’re coming, and how many. Bring as many materials as you may already have. Share with anyone else from our Transfiguration family !

For folks out of town, we will attempt to create a Facebook live broadcast.
