  1. Of course I do, along with the other 40-50 bars on/off Broadway between Mills St. & Bailey….along with the dozens of side bars on Young St., Milburn, Ashley, Grimes, Miller, Shepard, Memorial, Peckham, Paderewski sts. It WAS, a special time & place to be growing up back then. We couldn’t wait till we turned 18, ( a couple bars served us @ 16..Kuzhniak’s, Frank’s, & Sportman’s-to name a few), but when we got out Sheriff’s cards, we’d hit the neighborhood bars 10-12 in one night, & dwi was never an issue-we walked home. The biggest danger was slipping on the ice & snow & busting your backside @ 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning.!! Even the Precinct #11 Police Officers would stop & ask us if we were ok, & we’d say we had a few that night but were just walking home; they’d say goodnight & drive off.! They did stop “Chico”, Richard Czajka & myself crossing Broadway with Theo in a bells IGA shopping cart one night; we told them that Theo was having difficulty staying upright on the slippery streets & thought it best to escort him home in this manner. As they drove off laughing they said it was a great idea.!! Over the years, my kids growing up as teenagers in Texas, would have me relate such stories from the old neighborhood to their friends; they couldn’t comprehend how it was in Buffalo back then, but loved hearing about it.!

  2. I sure remember this place. Certainly nothing “regal” about this classic dive bar it was known in latter years as Casey and Olga’s. It had some cool murals on the walls and you could count on this joint to be always open till 4:00 a.m. when most places on Broadway had closed. It was next door to Bill and Walt’s which later became known as T&J’s another dive I used to frequent in my 20’s. Some great memories from days gone by.

  3. Frank’s Restaurant & Grill @ the dead end of Milburn st. always remained open till 4:00…as did Pee Wee’s/the Brown Derby……on Broadway @ Milburn……In fact, Pee Wee would turn off the window lights, run upstairs & make us scrambled eggs….& keep pouring…….This was tough on Friday nights…..Saturday @ 5:00, I had to be @ UPS for work…….incredible will & stamina back then……..1973-1976………..
