The Central Termin8er Bike Race and Festival is June 3-5, 2016, held at the iconic Central Terminal, promises to be something Buffalo has never seen before. The event will be a reinterpretation of urban cycling for the Western New York cycling community and participants from Toronto, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Boston, Pittsburgh, and Richmond.
Friday night kicks-off with the art party, “Propulsion” which will include bike art and local artists. Friday night’s line-up includes an art gallery, slam poetry, fashion show, African drumming, dancing and a Track-stand bicycle competition.
Saturday, the Termin8er main race, will be run in heats and open to anyone, on any bike. This race will pit expert against expert, beginner with beginner. You can even race your friends if you want. Prizes and awards will be given out according to point accumulation and will reflect the skill levels of riders. The official schedule of events is as follows:

- 1:00 p.m. Gobike Kids’ Rodeo (All kids are free)
- 2:00 p.m. Team Relay
- 4:00 p.m. Termin8er Finals
5:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony
Sunday June 5
- 9:00 a.m. Course opens for Community Ride (Free)
- 10:00 a.m. Side competitions begin
- 4:00 p.m. Ride to after party
Alternative urban racing has a 30-year tradition of inclusivity in racing. It is the kind of event that has something for everyone. Saturday activities include a performer line-up with 80’s rock to Motown and Funk. Steppers from the Matt Urban Hope Center and a DJ will round out the main stage. Racers and spectators alike will be able to enjoy the music as they participate in this totally integrated event. Above all, the feeling that anybody on any bike has the potential to do something inspiring is what makes Alternative Urban Racing truly special.
