2015 Christmas Food Giveaway at Saint Luke’s Mission of Mercy

Every year at St. Luke’s, we have a major Food Giveaway at Christmas time. This year we are giving away 2,600 bundles of food – each bundle consists of two bags of dry / canned goods including rolls, potatoes, vegetables, macaroni & cheese, cookies, etc. Each bundle also consists of a bag of perishable items including meat, butter, milk, frozen desserts, etc. God is so good! All of these items are either donated or purchased with funds that were donated. The food giveaway is an awesome thing to witness and an even more incredible thing to be a part of!

Here is the calendar of events for the 2015 Christmas Food Giveaway:

Sat. 12th

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Packing for Food Giveaway @ St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy

Thu. 17th

10:00 AM – Food Giveaway @ St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy

St. Luke’s gives over 1000 bundles of food to other churches and ministries in the East Side of Buffalo area to allow them to “feed the hungry” and spread the love and mercy of God to their congregations as well.

Coming With a Group?

If you are coming with a group, we recommend that you talk to the person who is coordinating our volunteer effort at this year’s food packing. This way, we can try to arrange a schedule that will meet your needs and allow us to have enough volunteers throughout the day to complete everything that needs to get done. Give Nancy a call and let her know the name of your group and approximately how many people you are expecting to volunteer and she will help set you up with an assignment that will be both enjoyable and productive!

As always, individuals and families are also most welcome. You can come for any part of, or all of the day. Lunch will be provided to any volunteer. So if you can, please stop by and give us a hand. There is always plenty to do and it is a very special time at the Mission. It is incredible to witness such an outpouring of God’s love through the generosity of so many beautiful people, not only in terms of donating money and product, but so many people donating their time and energy to allow the Food Giveaway to touch so many people.
