AM-POL Eagle: A 30-year dream came true for Adam Plewacki Post members

Fullscreen capture 2232015 44835 PM(By Gregory Witul – AM-POL Eagle) The Adam Plewacki Post No. 799 was always one of the largest American Legion posts in the region. After forming at the Dom Polski in late 1919, finding its first permanent home at the Winch Building on Fillmore, and finally moving into the Polish Union Hall in 1924, the Plewacki Post found stability through the 1930s. But this stability came with a price.

On the one hand the post didn’t have the cost and responsibility of a building and had access to all the amenities the Union Hall had to offer. On the other hand was scheduling with the other clubs for the use of the main hall and the lack of available space as the organization grew.
