Safe, Sound & Unbroken in support of the HOPE Center

Unbroken Concert Poster 2014

Safe, Sound and Unbroken, a concert featuring performances by The Unbroken and the Chris Squier Band, will take place beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Buffalo Iron Works, 49 Illinois St., Buffalo. The event will benefit the Lt. Col. Matt Urban HOPE Center’s Homeless Outreach Program.

Responding to the needs of the community and the fact that approximately 1,000 individuals — including families — are homeless on any given night in Buffalo, the HOPE Center provides crucial services for previously forgotten residents within the lower east side of Buffalo who suffer from extreme poverty. HOPE Center employees and volunteers assist the homeless in securing employment, benefits and services necessary to obtain and sustain safe and affordable housing.

Located at 385 Paderewski Drive in Buffalo, the HOPE Center also provides “one-stop shopping” to help homeless and low-income families get back on their feet. The facility features an Urban Diner (in collaboration with Friends of the Night People) where free dinners are served five nights a week to community members in need. Other services include employment searches, financial wellness classes, budget mentors, computer classes designed to enhance job marketability, benefit screening, free tax preparation and an asset development program.
