(By David Steele – Buffalo Rising) From time to time I come across an image that intrigues. One such image was of the organ loft in St. John Kanty Church at 101 Swinburne Street on Buffalo’s East Side. The Gothic style church was completed in 1892. The organ loft image caught my eye because the architecture it showed was not Gothic and was certainly not of 19th century vintage. It was more like mid 20th century. I quickly looked up a history of the church to find a very compelling history of the building that is nothing short of a miracle.
