Inspired by the American Constitution of 1787, the people of Poland formed and adopted the first democratic constitution in Europe on May 3, 1791.

The anniversary of the world’s second democratic written constitution has been celebrated wherever people of Polish heritage are found.

Over the last 20 years the date has seen celebrations in Poland and Polish American communities grow.
