This is the thirteenth in a series of interviews about the Broadway Market. This week we address the architecture of the market in a chat with an architect/preservationist who possesses a clear sense of the topic and a forthright opinion on the subject.
For all the talk about the Broadway Market, little is ever said about the significance of the building itself. While there are more than enough complaints about its aging façade and its failing infrastructure, rarely does anyone address the architectural value of the building to either the Broadway Fillmore neighborhood or the Queen City Region at large.
In search of such feedback, we turned to a local organization that specializes in architectural significance, Preservation Buffalo Niagara. There we met the accomplished architect/preservationist Andrea Rebeck.
