When I was in the Market on Saturday, Gary Ptak, President of the Adam Mickiewicz Library, gave me a piece of paper that was part of an invite to an “Open House Party” to Marsh Motors from 1936.
Marsh Motor Corporation was located at 653-655 Fillmore.
Yesterday…I stopped by and took a pic of the building and scanned the invite to share both with you.
A quick search on the internet revealed that Marsh had a couple other dealerships in Buffalo.
The building itself looks in bad shape.
Obviously, I love and appreciate all of your postings on your site, but there’s something to be said for the Then/Now postings. I number them among the top. Not only are they informational and serve as a reminder of what once was from a historical standpoint, but they illustrate just how far the neighborhood has fallen. I’m sure most people don’t need a reminder of how far its fallen, but it doesn’t hurt to continually show them. You never know what might catch . . .
Neill…I try when I can to post old with the new. I do wish I had more old pictures to compare to recent photos and the time to do more research.
My next post will be along those lines…
I tip my hat to you because you wear so many . . .
