After a meeting at the Broadway Market yesterday, I saw Saint Adalbert Basilica’s steeples when I was walking to my car in the Market’s ramp. Never too far from the front of my mind, I decided to zip over and shoot some pics.
I keep asking myself over and over and over and over again who in their right mind could justify trying to eliminate this parish?!?!
I fully understand that a building doesn’t make the church. The problem I have is that people do too…people like me and you. How can the Buffalo Diocese simply ignore the wishes of its people? What purpose is served by trying to make a place like Saint Adalbert’s go away?
The basilica is a representation of the faith we adhere to…the faith of our ancestors who helped build such a tribute to said faith…the faith that Saint Adalbert’s current parishioners use to guide them in keeping the church ALIVE.
