HT Charlie Penasack of Saint Adalbert Basilica for inviting me last night to come into the church and shoot some pics and video.
Each candle you see near the altar in the video was lit to remember someone’s loved one who has passed away. I was in awe in the church tonight and it was reminder of why I do what I do…by posting things like this, I help keep places like Saint Adalbert’s ALIVE.
It is important…I can’t even begin to imagine what the neighborhood would be without the basilica. A reminder to me was when I drove past Transfiguration church…long since used and slowly fading away. We can’t let other treasures in B-F suffer the same fate. Unfortunately, more and more buildings fade away without any advocate.
There are people who think the neighborhood is dead or a lost cause…well, the great people keeping who keep Saint Adalbert’s are proof positive that the neighborhood is ALIVE.
