Return of tradition to Saint Ann’s starting 11/05/2010

Beginning this week, First Friday Eucharistic Adoration returns to Saint Ann’s Church and Shrine located @ Broadway and Emslie. I inquired with St. Ann’s about the tradition being restored and received a response from parishioner Tim Hunger.

“Many years ago St. Ann’s had Adoration every Friday which included the very popular weekly novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It’s not a devotion limited to any particular ethnic group, it’s a universal Catholic practice. First Friday is the day set aside each month to especially honor the Sacred Heart, often including exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Adoration has been and is continuing to be a hugely popular revived tradition not only here in Buffalo, but all over the country and even the world. What better place to pray and adore than at St. Ann’s? It’s beautiful, it’s peaceful, it’s quiet. Since we’re beginning again after a long time we will have extended Adoration from 1 – 5 on November 5th. If we have a good turnout, then we’ll have a Holy Hour every First Friday from 4 – 5. All are invited, even if you can only stay a few minutes.”
