  1. The drug dealing continues 500 feet in front of the church on Townsend, by the same 20 year old drug family. Doing an estimated 50 – 100 deals a day, or about 20,000 – 30,000 a year. They’ve help to destroy a large part of the neighborhood. Taking out an estimated 10 – 20 million.

I’ve been attacked twice within the last year., and had several houses broken into. While driving through taking pictures one day recently, had one of them throw a large rock at my vehicle while a senior citizen was driving by me.

There needs to be two police cameras put in the area on Townsend / Peckham and Wilson /William.

People shouldn’t be dying on church property, from shootouts in the street.

Ask the Police WHY they can’t make an EFFECTIVE Commitment to stop this family? If they wanted to, they could park a police car for 2 wks straight on Townsend to help break it up, and return when needed.
Instead they just give excuses how the court just lets them out.

When I spoke to the Chief of Detectives, Dennis Richards, last August 2009, I recommended making at least 3 arrests every week as the level of force needed to help stop them. (The deals in a week are about 500, they can’t do at least 3 undercover buys a week AND keep it up ?) Det. Richards, last remark was, “I hope we don’t get sued” For doing their job ?

Actually just a few days later 3 people were arrested on a trespassing call I made . Do you think they did 108 arrests in the last 9 months ? I doubt they exceeded 20 arrests. This is what I call a tax payer SCAM, they don’t do the level of force to stop this drug family, just a little something to show they answered a complaint.

I had a police officer stop me one day when one of the dealers was running after my vehicle, instead of investigating who the guy was, he did a traffic stop on me. Later saying to his partners, “Leave the drug dealers alone and they wont mess with you” I remember him giving me the finger a few months ago, while I was standing at Fillmore / East Ferry across from C District, protesting. Maybe officer Zipp should go work for the Hamburg police dept, instead of so many people being chased out of Buffalo by this criminal activity, which is ALLOWED to go on.

  2. What does Ron’s comment have to do with saint stanislaus’ eucharistic adoration?

Mr. Byrd, you should remove it.

  3. Maria, Maybe it doesn’t have anything to do with Eucharisitic Adoration, maybe it does. It presents a reality that maybe people can include in their prayers. It wouldn’t hurt, would it ?

  4. Andy, spare me the condescension. I doubt if you include in your prayers. Do you pray for the people around your church? What Ron’s comment represents is unsubstantiated claims of police corruption. If there is some shred of truth, show us.

  5. Andy, maybe you should lead a prayer vigil in front of Saint Stanislaus to end the violence and for the end of police corruption with Ron. This would be putting your prayers where your mouth is.

  6. Maria,

I also find these periodic outbursts by Ron to be a little over the top and out of place.

Chris Byrd has warned Ron in the past to not stray too far away from the subject of the post in his comments, but he continues to do so.

I really don’t know what Andy was trying get at with his comment.

  7. Geez Louise…

@Maria – I like the idea of a prayer vigil to stop the violence

What I don’t like is people sniping at each other…

@Stan – You are right I did ask Ron that before…I give him some leeway…he doesn’t do it too often.

  8. LOL @ Stan being a Stitch, bringing up the part that I was, “warned not to stray away from the subject of the post”

I would not agree as to why Chris typed back on 4/2/2009, 15 months ago, and I have to respond to it. Last year I made a post asking for help to clean up an area in front of St Stans. I choose to make my remark on the first post I saw, to keep it at the top, which happened to be related to the One Night and Seven Churches – Holy Thursday. St Stans was one of those churches, so I thought it would be Ok. This is the link and Chris’s response:

So I wouldn’t say that Chris has ever warned me for the content I typed, that it strayed away from the topic, it was because it was in the wrong place according to Chris. I have to clarify this because your statement Stan, is wrong.

About your opinion that my posts are over the top and out of place, in about the last 3 years I would characterize my several posts as a Request for Help, against the evil right in front of St Stans. When I’ve made over 100 police calls regarding the drug dealing which has now gone on for 16 years straight that I’ve seen, I have been attacked at least 4 times, they’ve killed someone I’ve tried to help, and had sent a shooter after me, one of the ways to get attention is in the media.

My posts are an eyewitness testimony of what I see, and my opinions. I believe there is a secret force that allows the drug dealing to continue, because I believe it generates 500k – 1 Million a year. WHY else would a 20 year drug family never be permanently taken out ?

My current situation has now gotten much worse than my post last year. Last August 2009, the dealers kept loitering on my property and after several days of making police calls everyday, someone was sent after me. I was attacked, and had my ribs broken. About 2 days later not related to me, a car would drive up Townsend chasing another, stop at William and the passenger would fire an assault weapon in the direction of William and Fillmore, hitting Mr. Crosland in the eye killing him. He was standing in the doorway of his St Stans senior apartment building. This was believed to be retaliation for another murder that happened a couple weeks earlier at Townsend / Paderewski right behind St Stans.

I had cut back making any police calls on the drug dealers, and took about 10 weeks to heal, both my front and back hurt. This was the first time in my life, and in 15 years in the neighborhood that I ever broke anything. Then around November 2009, while in my 38 Townsend, I could hear the dealers say outside, “Hit him again, Hit him again”. On December 7th , 2009 I found what looked like a large amount of crack hidden along a house nearby, so I called the police and turned the stuff in. Later that evening another person was sent after me with a pipe. I took several hits and the back window of my truck was smashed out.
It took about another 8 – 10 weeks to heal, nothing broken on the 2nd attack in 4 months.

Now in the last 16 years, I’ve purchased 23 parcels of property, which I’m now afraid to go to. Most are lots next to each other, 6 of the buildings I’ve had to leave vacant because of the continued drug dealing. So now that I have been chased out of the area, 4 of the houses on Townsend have been broken into and been stripped recently.

I believe in about the prior 15 years, the police had told the drug dealers to stay away from me, with a hidden agreement that nothing ever effective would be done to stop the dealing. Just leave me alone, they keep selling.

So as the dealers kept dealing, my numerous police calls were going no where. Then in 2007 after being unnecessarily being beat up by the police, and having my cell phone smashed , I had begun a Stop Police Corruption Organization, of signs, and T shirts and Sunday afternoons I’ve spent several hundred hours standing at Fillmore / East Ferry in the last 3 years.

I’ve believe this has angered many of the police, and some of the police may have encouraged the dealers to “kick his ass”, and “He needs an old fashioned ass whopping” as two of the statements that I have heard when the police were nearby.

I’ve expressed to the former pastor of St Stans that I needed help, his response in July 2006, was were out of money, and “Nothing has happened to us” . My calls in 2008, once he was in Florida, then he was in New York, then when I reached him he said he couldn’t talk with me. I believe I was being told to get lost, yet for about 4 years the developer had hired a member of the drug family, I think as a form of protection money. This worker would walk back and forth between the church and the main drug house. I think a real independent audit should have been done of all the money that was spent at St Stans. I estimate 8 – 10 million.

So, am I supposed to just give up ? Stan ? Maria ?

Please ask the Police why this is allowed to continue, and do it on a regular basis.

    Happy Mother’s Day

  9. Maria,

I really meant no condescension in my post and I strongly believe that prayer can indeed help. Fr. Anzelm regularly led us in prayer “for the neighborhood” at Corpus Christi. To not do that is to pretend that the world outside the doors of the church does not exist.

As far as Ron’s posts go, I don’t know whether there is police corruption related to the drug dealing around St. Stan’s or not, but I also don’t know why the drug dealers have not been shut down, whether it’s because the police do not have enough backup or manpower to solve the problem, or what. I KNOW from experience that it’s not that easy for law enforcement to shut down an operation.

At least there is a place for someone like Ron to document what he observes. The more people who know about the drug dealing, the better. Whether Ron is correct about Police Corruption or not, I don’t know, but I also don’t know of too many civilians who are willing to put their lives on the line in order to fight drug dealers. I know I’m not one of those people.
