798 Fillmore

A little over a year ago, I posted about 798 Fillmore and how it was saved from the wrecking ball.

The East Amherst couple who purchased the home have been dilligently working on securinng and cleaning the property up.  The former Wladyslaw H. Zawadzki residence is now slowly but surely making its way to recovery.

The picture above was snapped yesterday…workers are performing some sewer and plumbng fixes.

I can’t wait for the day when I can post a picture of the property fully renovated and inhabited.

Alive…

These pictures were taken prior to the save of the building.

  1. Thanks for the update. Not enough attention is paid to the possibility of rehabilitating the historic properties in Broadway Fillmore. Learning the hard way that rehab takes a lot of dedication and patience to get financing and move forward, I certainly appreciate their effort. But the reward is well worth it. On the other side of the coin, rehabilitating these wonderful structures still is more economical than new construction costs. Plus the overall quality of older construction techniques is superior to a lot of the new construction going on in the city.
