Happy Easter.
I spent yesterday afternoon on the corner of Fillmore / East Ferry standing across from the C District Police station wearing my STOP POLICE CORRUPTION T shirt. Making a stand is something I’ve been doing for over 30 Sunday’s at the station, after unnecessarily being punch and kicked in the head while handcuffed.
One of those officers was later fired for a series of other reckless acts, and another has charges for punching out a senior citizen over a parking spot in January.
People continue to stop and walk up to me, telling me their stories of being mistreated by the police.
Some comments from those driving by, a woman, “Happy Easter, Glad to see you there” and a man in a church van, “Thank You Brother, Thank You, Thank You”
So in my 9 hrs on the corner , I wanna thank and wish a Happy Easter to the 143 people who beeped and waived. I had taken the time to walk the 2 miles from Broadway Fillmore to Fillmore East Ferry, It’s a way to be a part of the neighborhood few people do. (Including the police)
Everyone who has family or an interest in the Broadway Fillmore neighborhood, I encourage to get involved with a church or group and help make a street or neighborhood better.
