Epiphany Concert to be held Jan. 4 at St. Stanislaus Church

In observance of the conclusion of the Christmas-Epiphany season, all are invited to a concert in historic St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr Church, 123 Townsend Street, Buffalo on the Feast of the Epiphany, Sunday, January 4th at 4:30 p.m., featuring Soprano Soloist, *Brittany Mruczek.* During the concert, Bishop Edward M. Grosz, D.D.,V.G. will bless and distribute to all attendees containers of blessed water. A free-will offering will be taken up.

The Feast of the Epiphany highlights the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child, the Baptism of Jesus in the waters of the Jordan River, and the changing of water into wine at the wedding feast of Cana.

Brittany Mruczek

A graduate with honors, of Notre Dame High School, Batavia, NY, Brittany is currently a sophomore at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Postdam where she is majoring in vocal performance and education.

She has been able to show her well rounded entertaining talents in song, dance and acting with her appearances in the Batavia Players Summer Youth Theatre productions of: The Sound of Music, Annie, Anything Goes, No, No, Nanette, Bye Bye Birdie, Oliver!, Hello Dolly!, The Music Man, Titanic and Jesus Christ Superstar.  

The former Teen Miss Buffalo through the Miss America pageant system also attended the Eastman School of Music where she was the multiple year recipient of the Clase Vocal Scholarship in Honor of Renee Fleming. She has also studied piano, modern jazz and ballet. Brittany was crowned Miss Western New York in 2006 and was one of the debutantes at the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City in 2007.

Brittany has competed in many vocal competitions including the annual Empire State Competition held at Syracuse University, where she received a perfect score in voice. She won the New York State Heidi Killian Voice Competition in her junior year of high school and the Geneseo Voice Competition in her senior year.

Brittany has performed at numerous events at St. Joseph Church and Sacred Heart Church in Batavia, St. Stanislaus and St. John Kanty churches in Buffalo, the Our Lady of Fatima National Shrine in Lewiston and Most Precious Blood Church in Angola, NY. She has also performed at various sporting events in her home town.

At her most recent performance, Brittany was one of the three Polish Sopranos that performed at the Canisius College Montante Cultural Center in Buffalo.

Miss Mruczek has also helped raise countless funds for various charities with her vocal talent including, Jim Kelly’s Hunters Hope Foundation and Buffalo – Rzeszow Sister Cities, Inc.. She has also just released her first CD – “The Hymns of Mary” where a portion of every sale will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Copies of her CD will be avalialbe after the concert and are currently available at the Am-Pol Eagle office, 3620 Harlem Rd., Cheektowaga for only $11.

Brittany has also received honors from the Pulaski Association as an outstanding young Polish American and the 2005 Am-Pol Eagle Citizen of the Year Award in Art and Drama.
