WGRZ: St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy

Thanksgiving is when most people donate or help out at local food banks and shelters. However, the need is there all year round and now more than ever before.

“It’s most important that we be here. It’s like going to the battlefield and you go to the wounded first,” said St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy Co-Founder Norm Paolini.

For Norm Paolini, his battlefield is Buffalo’s inner city. St’ Luke’s serves up two hot meals a day, Monday through Saturday.

“If it wasn’t for them I don’t know where I would go for help,” said Tammy Monk.

“We try really hard to turn not turn anybody down,” said Lay Missionary Charlene Mallory.

With their newly expanded kitchen, more than 600 meals are served up in one day. On Tuesdays and Fridays, food giveaways are provided for those who need it.
