This past Saturday Marty Biniasz, Mike Miller & I got to do a walk-through of the Eckhardt Building @ 950 Broadway.

Absolutely, positively FANTASTIC…

The last time I was in the building was in 2006.  I was excited to learn upon entering that the old central staircase had been cleared.  When the building was converted for office use, the old retail store stairs were hidden behind walls…they still are for the most part, but we got to walk them from top to bottom…marble stairs & terrazzo floors…awesome.  By walking them, you really get the feel of what the building was like for retail.  The only floor pretty much left intact from its retail days is the basement.

Without elaborating on the whos and whats, we were told that the building receives inquiries all the time.  I am certain that the building will see new use soon…fingers crossed.

  1. Great stuff, Chris!

Ben has done a terrific job in keeping her clean. Despite a few cosmetic issues, she’s in fantastic shape and looking better than she did two years ago.
