Buffalo News: Approval of bill means repairs for Fillmore Ave.

bf.jpgWASHINGTON — The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a Senate-amended bill that includes $1.2 million to repair a section of Fillmore Avenue.

The money will be used to repair or replace pavement, sidewalks, curbs, handicapped ramps, drainage systems and streetlights on a section of Fillmore between William and Sycamore streets

  1. With a substantial influx of dollars about to be spent on Fillmore Ave…. this would be a perfect time to discuss Historic Polonia District signage, lamppost treatments and other esthetic improvements.

  2. If this will be a reconstruction and not just an overlay, it would be interesting to see if the cobblestone can be used for anything in the area such as crosswalks or other use that we can come up with.
