What a joyous moment for the parishioners of St. Adalbert’s Basilica. We received correspondence from Francis Cardinal Arinze that said we “indeed have a record in our Congregation that St. Adalbert’s Church, Buffalo, N. Y., was given brief as Basilica by Pope St. Pius X.” A brief was a compendious papal letter that dispensed with some of the formalities previously insisted on, and that was the method that Pius X decided to use to convey the title to us.
We need to get the support of the community. Where is the POLISH community, in particular, to support us….we need everyone to rally with us to keep our basilica open. We ARE basilica that was made so by Pope Pius X…it was a papal directive, our diocese feels the need to close us….Polish Organizations/Catholic Organizatoins out there in all of WNY show us your support…we need you ALL!!!
