bm.jpgYou can certainly tell Easter is around the corner in the Fillmore district…everyday the traffic gets alittle heavier and this weekend Broadway will be filled carrying many people who grew up with the tradition of going to the Market at Easter time.

In 2007, the Market with help from our friend Chris Byrd tried some exciting new ventures.  The Christmas Fair was a success and also bringing market vendors out to the different locations helped to promote what many of us already know…the best & freshest foods come from the Market.  Bringing outside entities in such as Squeaky Wheel was another brilliant idea!

Sandy Starks cooking classes, I hear, are also well received and I think kids cooking classes would also be a great idea..

In order for the Market to grow, thinking outside of the box has to be priority #1.   I would also love to see the many fresh fruit and vegetable stands return to the outside of the Market in the Spring and Summer…

Although many are grounded in tradition in order to thrive a little reinvention here and there is certainly one of the keys to success!
