Matt Urban

Before I get writing about what I am going to be writing about, I wanted to throw a little BFA love out to the ever-dedicated crew at the AM-POL Eagle…why…you don’t really read about the things they do for Buffalo’s historic Polonia, but they help out in many ways…far too many ways for me to mention here…little things…big things…medium size things…the bottom line is they help in keeping the neigborhood ALIVE in the hearts and minds of people who read their paper or make their way to their website.

So how does the AM-POL Eagle tie into this article you ask?

Well…if you recall, I posted a link to an article by them about an effort to get the new federal courthouse being built in downtown Buffalo to be named after Lt. Col. Matt Urban. If you have never read the story of Matt Urban, you should.  He is simply the most decorated American serviceman ever and had his humble beginnings here in B-F at 1153 Broadway a few doors down from the Polish Community Center which now bares his name.

After I read the article, I emailed the AM-POL Eagle editor Roger Puchalski about asking what BFA could do to help.

His reply led me to “The Polish Prince” Norm Skulski which led BFA to help promote the effort.

This internet thingy dingy is truly an amazing networking tool…what you can do is sign the online petition asking that the courthouse be name in his honor…you can also send the petition around to your family and friends asking them to sign.
