My son came across a little token of Polish-American history in Buffalo, NY. In a box of old buttons and pins we picked up at an auction, he found this metal commemorating the American Legion Post named after the first Buffalo man killed in World War 1. The Adam Plewacki (the “w” is pronounced as a “v”) Post was dedicated October 1949.
