I found these pictures on Flickr this morning. The captions indicate that the builder of this model lives in Rochester. A couple of floors were omitted due to the ceiling height of his basement, but the overall proportions look pretty close! I’m impressed that he even attempted to detail the concourse.

If anyone out there knows who the builder is, please contact us.

  1. Mike,
Wow, the detail, the scale, the concourse…this is amazing. I always kid with my wife that if or when I try my hand at a train setup with my son, it would have a replica of the Central Terminal, my guess is mine would look NOTHING like this though. Someone has put much time and effort into this.

  2. Joe, wouldn’t you love to own a replica of the terminal complete with the concourse? Of course, Katie would have to let you take the whole basement! 🙂

  3. I just found out that this model is the same model I saw photos of a few years ago. I didn’t recognize it because I had never seen the interior photo. It was built by Jim Mruk, friend, former CTRC board member (currently Emeritus) and longtime volunteer, along with wife Beverly.
